As a student at Columbia College, Sharon began her career in visual media as an intern at Harpo Productions, Inc. – The Oprah Winfrey Show.

With a definite eye for talent, Sharon extends her search to the streets as well as the obvious sources for those with potential and raw talent in addition to seeing the dedicated professionals. A wealth of casting experience and a desire to bridge the gap between talent and production has led Sharon to her latest professional role of Producer.

While Sharon penetrated the industry as an Extras Casting Associate, she quickly ascended the ladder to Casting Director. She started working on feature films and series productions such as Another Cup of Coffee, The Babe and Brewster Place. As an Casting Associate, she worked with other Casting Directors on feature films and pilot presentations that include: What’s Love Got to Do With It, The Five Heartbeats, Meteor Man and Moe’s World.

Her Casting Director/Extras Casting Director credits are extensive. They include music videos, short films, feature films, webisodes, PSA’s, documentaries and commercials. Most notably, N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton, Nothing Like The Holidays, Scenes for the Soul, Soul Food, Light It Up, Love Relations, Barbershop & BarberShop 2, Roll Bounce, Of Boys and Men, Witless Protection,Elektra, Fat Albert, Spider Man II, Normal, Proof, Ice Harvest, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Ron Isley / R Kelly What Would You Do, Illinois Lottery, Out of the Mouths of Babes, The Proud and Privileged, DuSable to Obama: Chicago's Black Metropolis, and Miller Lite.

Along with Producing and Casting-Sharon has added Executive Producer to her film contributions; The Skin Game: A PornumentaryServing For 4, and co-producing Clippings-all shot in Los Angeles. The Truth and (Mis) Leading Man, were short films shot in Chicago, and she utilized local talent and resources. Sharon enjoys this realm of filmmaking as it affords her the chance to not only cast talent, but also assist in securing financing, employ crew and collaborate in the decision making process from start to finish. Sharon is proud to note that (Mis)Leading Man has screened at the Cannes Film Festival and won the honor of "Best Short Film" at the Hollywood Black Film Festival. All three films co produced by Sharon (The Truth, (Mis) Leading Man and Mission: Mom Possible), have screened in various festivals including Sundance, Chicago International Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival and many other prestigious festivals nationally and internationally. (The Truth, directed by Hill Harper, won the PAFF Audience Favorite Award)

Sharon is dedicated to developing and producing more feature films and television projects while striving to unite the visual media community. She is an member on various boards including the Governor’s Visual Media Task Force, the Illinois Production Alliance –Diversity Committee, and the Chicago International Film Festival – Black Perspectives Committee.
